Barcelona Triathlon adds to the work of the Spanish Foundation for the Promotion of Research Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (FUNDELA) to support its goal of promoting research of ALS in Spain.

It is a neuromuscular disease, of which 900 new cases are detected each year in Spain, and that affects nerve cells called motor neurons. These cells, which control the movement of voluntary musculature, gradually decline and die operation, causing muscle weakness and atrophy. It is a fatal disease and 80 percent of patients die three to five years after diagnosis.

To support its work FUNDELA you can make a donation to make your registration for the triathlon, or do not want to participate in the competition you can help by purchasing the "Bib number 0".
